On February 21st 2019 Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen hosted a press conference at Copenhagen City Hall, where the Danish Tour de France start in 2021 was officially announced. The tour will complete 3 stages in Denmark: A time trial in central Copenhagen and two normal stages from Roskilde to Nyborg over the Great Belt Bridge and from Vejle to Sønderborg. Also in attendance at the press conference were protector for the event HRH Crown Prince Frederik, Tour de France boss Christian Prudhomme, Lord Mayor of Copenhagen Frank Jensen and Minister for Business Rasmus Jarlov. .
